Robert B. Cherrington Education Fund Established to Provide Scholarships for Brockport Central School District Graduates

The Robert B. Cherrington Education Fund has been established through the estate of
longtime Brockport educator Mr. Robert B. Cherrington to provide scholarships to graduatesof the Brockport Central School District pursuing post-secondary education. By creating thisfund, Mr. Cherrington ensured that his lifelong commitment to education and student successwould continue for generations to come.

Each year, the fund will award a minimum of two scholarships to Brockport High Schoolgraduates who demonstrate strong moral character, academic achievement (minimum Baverage), a clear sense of purpose, and financial need. Scholarship funds may be used for thefull cost of tuition, books, and approved educational materials, and are available to recipientswho enroll full-time in a college or university program. Scholarship recipients may be eligible torenew their awards annually for 4-5 years, provided they continue to meet eligibility andacademic requirements.

As part of the selection process, emphasis will be placed on applicants pursuing majors in education, medical fields, history, government, or related areas of study that reflect Mr.Cherrington’s lifelong commitment to service and learning.

For the inaugural year, qualified Brockport High School seniors from the Class of 2026 are encouraged to apply for the first scholarships, which will be awarded in 2026. For more information about eligibility, applications, or donations, please email
